Act of kindness

When someone says "Bless you" after a sneeze, or holds the door open for you, you say thank you out of common courtesy. But as time has gone on, random acts of kindness like a blessing, nice gesture or a even just a simple compliment go unnoticed. Today, people misconstrue being nice as flirting. I saw this in action a few weeks ago at the mall. I was inside of a shoe store store and a guy walked up to a girl wearing a vintage The Who concert shirt and simply said "Hey! I like your shirt!" The girl did not hesitate to turn around and say she's wasn't interested and walked off annoyed. The poor guy was left there in complete shock, because he wasn't trying to hit on her, he liked her shirt, but because being nice is so rare now, the girl thought he was flirting. Before, when you got a compliment, it was just that, a simple compliment. However, over time, that has disappeared. In today's world, being nice or even polite isn't appreciated anymore, so people have just stopped trying. People stop acknowledging a gesture and it created a negative domino effect. Random acts of kindness today are rare and unusual. If one person said thank you or just a simple nod, it could create a counter effect and maybe reverse what has been caused today. But random compliments or gestures do not only show a person's kindness, it can turn a bad mood into a good mood for someone else. With just a simple step, a random act will not go ignored.

Stina, this is a good start but it isn't feeling finished... try dividing it in paragraphs and then you'll be able to decide what parts you have... do you have your opening (hook); do you have enough of a middle (a developed claim with enough examples to show your point); do you have a catchy ending? Notice how your middle contradicts your opening... so you'll want to work on the progression of thoughts so they hold together... Dr. H
